Beautiful On Your Worst Day

The key is low light, right?

Well…

No.

On your worst day when life simply hurts, if you have trusted Jesus, you always house the Spirit of God.… and you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

This truth begins with Jesus.

God knew that on our worst or best days, our flesh would be weak and our temptation would be distracted or drawn away from praising Him or from a thought life that is pleasing to him.

With that in mind He gave us instructions.

Do this:

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

Did you catch that you ONLY need to THINK it? Have you ever experienced emotional exhaustion to the point that you felt too empty to read the word? Me too. This passage is not commanding us to prepare a dissertation. It’s only commanding us to THINK.

Jesus.

That name meets all the criteria.

Think the name of Jesus.

The result?

And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9b

That peace is beautiful!

Thinking His name births strength to praise His name. The more we choose to praise our Lord and worship our Lord, the more the fruit of His Spirit is manifest. It isn’t dependent on how we might feel or life’s circumstances–and the Lord knows how painful our lives can be–the reason for his life sacrifice.

The fruit is there in full measure … always.

I’ve heard many stories from others (mostly from those attending BSF and CR) and I’ve experienced my own of God’s transforming work on my heart and my thought life. Do I still run into struggles? Yes. I also know the source of truth. I know to begin with Jesus and if there was ever a truth to be told and believed, it would be coming from our creator.

God only speaks truths:

“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

As you spend time praising Him and thanking Him for this fact, watch what happens and then come by to share your story… please?

Another truth … another promise… another reason for hope, praise and thanks:

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5b

With this promise in mind, consider also that He cannot be separated from His fruit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23

His spirit of perfect love is more than ready for every battle we face. He’s there … in you… with you… ready.

Jesus is working.
